So to start can talk about the feels full short called ‘Lava’, The short follows a lonely volcano singing for companionship and how his hope throughout his life. its a beautifully animated short and a lovely start to a film that is all about ‘feels’. the short bit of animation was a joy to both watch and listen to and would be happy to watch over and over. a small preview is below ^_^.
Inside Out Review
Pixars next huge money making/marketing success hit cinemas this year with a big hit success grossing $90.4 million in its first weekend making it a record breaking film as well as pleasing most fan’s and critics.
The film follows small baby child Reily and her developing emotions; Joy, Sadness, Disgust, Fear and Anger. Come into being as her life goes on and you learn what they do for Reily. as these Anthropomorphic Personification help Relily’s personality build. The films real plot starting with something that nearly everyone in the world that can relate to, Moving away and how that can shake your whole world, the film following the emotions as they try to figure out the best way to help Reily deal with this drastic changes.
The film’s main plot starts out with Joy and Sadness getting lost in Reilys mind after accidentally getting lost in ‘Longterm memory’, and it goes from there as we see how this interpretation of the human mind works.
This is a beautiful animated film, that is to be expected from Pixar, and as the last Pixar film i personally saw was WALL-E, the animation and creative that is on display here really is on par with the cosmic showcase the 1st half of WALL-E was. With each character having its own look, the layout and set’s of Reily’s mind each having a unique look and feel. along with this the film is very well casted with each character not only having a suited voice but a memorable one was well.
Over all this film is pretty dang amazing, a fun look into the mind of a unique character with problems most people can relate to, as everyone has to grow up and deal with change. I think this film really helps to get across that fact and shows signs of all ready helping people do this.
