This is all of course opinion based, but…its my blog so its my blog and it host’s what i think…so i am right here.
With Fox’s new Fantastic Four coming out in the coming years, and with the recent announcement of the casting choice of the four main characters, with the most controversial being the casting of Michael B Jordan as The Human Torch, a traditional white character being played by a black actor. this of course has sparked some controversy with fan’s of the fantastic four, which i see as sad that people are really seeing this as a problem.
Of course i can see the issue people seeing this as issue, and just see it as a way to try and get more people to come see this film, but i like to see this being as cynical assholes, Michael B. Jordan should make a great Johnny Storm and having read a few Fantastic Four comics i can really tell you what never came up as a real problem? The Fact he is white was never an important plot point for anything invoked with the FF, which more or less deal with science and space stuff, the issue of race i could never see really coming up unless it was the Human race as a whole. When people do shout out about , ‘ ‘hexrby herby derpy derp, If Johnny Storm can be black why not make Luke Cage and Black Panther White?! Derp’ now these character’s race is more important to them, Black Panther being a king of the African nation of Wakanda, and being one of the first black heroes in fiction along with people like Luke Cage and Falcon, where as Johnny Storm was not the first white hero and not even the first Human Torch.
So Johnny Storm being a different race should not be an issue, and no…Susan Storm doesn’t have to be black as well, i really have a hard time understanding why people do not know about 1. Adoption 2. Mixed race families 3. that people can be rascit assholes about the whole thing
If this film is bad, it is down to the writer, dirctor and possibly the actors them selves, not there skin colour.
Michael B.Jordan is an great actor, and from what i have seen of the others who have been cast they could do really well in there roles, right now its up in the air till the film comes out or even a trailer is made before people can really judge what this film if it is going to be any good at all.
