The latest addition to Namco’s fighting series ‘Tekken’ and the much awaited squeal to ‘Tekken Tag Tournament’, the non cannon more ‘fun’ and less story and character development then the normal Tekken game’s a well awaited move away from the serious and deep story just to have some fighting fun with one of the largest rooster of characters in a fighting game I have seen and one of the strangest as well, with boxing kangaroo, a raptor and two Bear’s who have all been staple part of the games series and helped it with its mix of both drama and comedy, even more so when fighting games are not really know for there over arcing story’s.

The character rooster is huge with a large cast of old character’s from all of the past Tekken game’s, including characters who are just other characters dressed up but even then they play slightly differently so they are a lot more then just a different color scheme and voice which really shows the developer’s going all out to fill in this rooster of past character’s. Most of the characters keep pretty much the same move set as they did in past games with some basic changes here and there to balance them a bit more or be made a bit to over powered and proberly needing to be brought down but meh, with characters ranging from Jin Krazama and to characters only added in the latest Tekken 6 like Feng, this game has enough to bring in both old fan’s ,who have been wanting a new tekken tag game since the first one and not be held down by the some what confusing over arcing story for new fans, What is great that every character has his, her or it’s own story that you can hear the end of in  Arcade mode, which I think is the best way to do it…other wise why will people play the game more then once (SOUL CALIBER 5 YOU DID IT WRONG!!!), along with just the basic characters the customization of each with things like item’s, weapons and clothing really is well done and I think a real leap when compared to the one in Tekken 6, even with the added bounus of each character have a voice/language of there own country helps dip this game in realism, such as the French character speaking French and the Brazilin characters speaking Spanish (I think its spanish).

All though I don’t really judge a game on graphics, I have to be honest here and say that Tag 2 has some of the best graphics I have seen for a fighting game, everything just looks amazing in this game, from the characters, the stages , the effects and even the people in the back of some stage’s, it all just looks 100% amazing and pretty to me, its not dark and gritty like Mortal kombat, or Cell shaded and slightly cartoony like street fighter, these ghrapics are realistic and look amazing for it and I really feel will make this game stand out even if its just for  its looks and graphic style alone.

I’m not the biggest fan of dup step and I don’t really listen to any techno that isn’t from Daft Punk, but the music in Tag 2 is really amazingly well done and really suits the game’s colorful and fast passed style, with each stage having its own music and the title screen changing music and not just playing the same song over and over really helps you appreciate the style they where going for and you really feel that they went all out with it and tried there hardest to bring a game that was 100% going full out to make the best game they can by putting everything into it, even in the music department.

This game doesn’t have an over arcing story that you have to play through with cut scene’s and what not, what this game has is instead 9-10 stage’s of a arcade mode and then you get an ending for one of the characters you are using, and not just how fast you managed to finish the game, which was the problem with Soul Caliber V, with giving each character an ending it makes you want to play with each character and find out there story’s after wards and so are more motivated to play the game more then once so you can see each characters ending, with the endings ranging from serious and expanding on the characters personality, other endings being more comedic, ranging from a character falling apart infront of a junk yard, to another having a nightmare about a family meal where he get’s no food at all. This really shows that even when this game shouldn’t be taken seriously but still can bring out the seriousness in some characters.

Over all this is a really good fighting game with strong controls, awesome music and a rooster of interesting and mostly unforgettable characters with unique backstory and motivations. As soon as I can I will be buying it as I know I want to play it a lot more, with the large collection of character’s, amazing music, back ground stage’s, customization this really feels like you have been given a full game well worth the full price tag that was given to it and really liked up to its predecessor and its an over all great squeal to the original Tekken tag Tournament and a fighting game that really shows how to go all out.
