Star Trek and Doctor Who are two of the biggest sci-fi television series in the world, having fans over the world i am honestly surprised they haven’t crossed over before this, and i don’t think that they have before this comic ‘Assimilation2’ the basic premise of this is. that the Cybermen have crossed into the Star Trek universe and are teaming up with The Brog, with the universe melding and The Doctor with Amy and Rory team up with Captain Jean-Luc Picard and his crew of the USS Enterprise. This is a pretty logical crossover of these titans on sci-fi TV.

The cobernation of characters all work off each other fairly well and this is helped by a pretty well wirtten story line, this really wouldn’t feel out of place if it really happened in one of the shows if they ever did cross over on TV (which would be insanely awesome). While i am not the biggest fan of the art, its not bad i think it looks really good, i just don’t really like looking at it. when they have a flas back to Captain Kirk, Spock and The 5th Doctor i liked the art then, it had a sense of an old school comic that the cover that comes along with that issue really gives off as well. With the well written story and all the characters, well in character, and the story having refrences to both series really helps send this home that who ever wrote this story knew a bit about both Doctor Who and Star Trek: The Next Generation.

The covers are really well done, and have a bit of fan serivce in each one, from Kirk wresling with a old school Cyberman along with The 5th Doctor, the tardis flying between a Borg cube and star fleet ship battling to Captain Picard standing in the Tradis with the 11th Doctor, to an old school early golen age comic cover that i really love.

Over all this is a pretty good comic, and i just wish this sort of cross over would happen on tv, ever if its slightly impossible with budget and the current Star Trek Universe, unless the new films also lead to some sort of TV show (which would be pretty cool).
