Birmingham Comic Con and memorabilia show at the NEC, with the long lines and room filled with nerdy culture, ranging from talks and signings with stars, to robot fights; the mass amount of cos players, my self included, to hand crafted art and items at stalls.

Over all this was an amazing play to be and not to big as I was able to see everything I think twice from being there at nine am through to about half three, which is a pretty good thing as there are a lot of people and the earlier you are able to get there the better really.

Ranging from old stars to new ones the people there was an amazing to see these people in the flesh and not on a screen, with EILEEN DEITZ to current up and coming actors in ALEXANDER VLAHOS and other knights from merlin, with the auto graphs in my opinion being very over priced I was quite glad there wasn’t any one that I really desperately wanted to see as I can see why people would pay £15 for some one famous to sign something but it was something I my self passed on.

Out in the corner I got to sort of live one of my childhood dreams of watching robots fight each other, being able to see robots form one of my childhood tv shows of ‘robot wars’ was really a sight and something that was amazing to me to see these things up close.

The stalls them selves I did not see a single one that was badly put together, each one showing what they where selling clearly and being presented in a pleasing to the eye sort of way, from board games, to comic books to America food there was a stall for everyone in the comic con section and then moving to the back of the hall you got to the memorabilia section which include some of the most amazing nerd things you could find, with one of a kind drawings and note books to just props and custom items from shows and films that any person who really like these things would love to be able to buy.

After that would be the comic book artists who had there own little corner, with just solo indie comics to just artists showing off/selling their work there was a lot there, being able to get things like portraits, drawings of your favourite characters, to find out about up and coming comic books that are self publish such as ‘twisted dark’ the dark collection of story’s that I have just finished reading with greatly drawn art and an amazingly written.

Each stall had there own little things and when you found the homemade items that  you can really tell a mass amount of work has been put into these things, and for the price they are selling them for they should really be for the amount of work you can see they have put into each one.

In the end of it all, it was a very good day and the events, stalls and people all around where just great to see and meet. From just the random people who recognize my costume or have put a mass amount of work into it there own can’t help but feel like everyone in the room is on the same page of, nerdyness is awesome and you really get that feeling as you walk around the room, an over all amazing day.
