Mario Kart 8 review

Now…one of the many reasons (by many i mean 3) i got a Wii U was the above game, i’m pretty sure these games praises have been sung by allot so i have a cunning plan (as cunning as a fox who graduated at Oxford with a 1st in cunning) I am going to bad mouth this game at first, So here we go.

A better user in face would be nice, just a obvious option menu  where you can change to non motion controls forever for Wii remotes, its just the most annoying thing in the world (Mario Kart speaking) to do this at a start of a race (even if its just once if you are playing a grand prix) and it would make a lot more sense to just be able to change this permanently and if there is a way they could have made it allot more obvious.

Next up on the complain list is battles, now i did enjoy balloon battles in the other games of Mario Kart that have come out, this year they had done something weird with it. which is you just battle on a select few race tracks to battle on and not getting your own dedicated areas like in other games, you just get to race around in any direction of the track until one teams one or you are the last karter standing, this seems like a stupid move to me and sort of lazy, but i can see why others could like it even though i don’t.

Also the koopa kids seem like wasted character slots, just to me. where as i quite like

Now, on to the good stuff. This game is amazingly fucking beautiful, i mean it, this game looks great and its awesome to see some older tracks updated with this new technology.

The Wii U game pad works really well, and is honestly one of my favorite new controllers (this may be coz of my own giant hands)

The extras to unlock are really cool and it feels pretty good to be able to pretty much make your own kart (by picking a base, wheels and parachute), the new tracks look amazing and the updated ones look just as good, new items are cool and the blue shell is just as scary as ever.
