Lego batman 2: DC super hero’s

This is the first Lego game that uses voice acting, and the sequel to ‘Lego Batman’ you can really feel that this Is one of the quite rear ‘good’ sequel’s as it takes everything that was in the first game and then not only builds on it also adding to the game its self, as the title suggests there is a lot more characters then just ‘batman’ based character’s, with including the super hero’s from DC resident super team ‘The Justice League’s it allows the players to not only be batman and robin and there very large villains glary, it also adds the super hero’s and villains from a wider spectrum of the DC character’s; superman, wonder woman, green lantern, to name three big and powerful hero’s who have now been made in Lego form along with the most famous of there villain’s and nearly all of the batman one’s; General Zod, Sinestro, and all of batman’s villains, which leads to this game having a large cast of colorful character’s in this much more comical take on the DC universe.

As I said at the start this is the first Lego game that uses voice acting, this allowed one of the most iconic voices of Lex Luther to come back ‘Clancy Brown’ who is know for doing Luther’s voice on both the justice league animated cartoon show and a number of other impressive voice’s for a number of different cartoon’s, the voice’s for other character’s I all pretty well done apart from a few that I felt didn’t really sound right but that could just be me, with the use of voice’s allowed to show the lighter side of these Lego hero’s, adding to the comedy that is well known in Lego game’s, but even then the voice acting dose feel out of place with so many years the lego games have been able to get across both comdey and a story with out them needing to have any speaking role’s, with certain character’s the voice acting really not bring anything forward by seeing the poor choice that they made, but with some characters it really dose suit them well, with the main big three ‘Superman’ ‘Batman’ and of course ‘Lex Luther’, with the Joker a close 3rd but nothing that really stands out as good or bad.

The game’s story is really a simple really, Lex Luther get’s jelasorse of Bruce Wayne, teams up with Joker to take Batman and Bruce Wayne down, Along the way batman must deal with the fact he will need the help of other hero’s, mainly Superman and the rest of the Justice League, where as the story is simple it give’s you a lot to do gameplay wise and a lot of exciting things happening, as by the end you are fighting a giant Joker robot driving, flying and fighting you way around Gotham and its under ground.

The graphics are what you really expect for a Lego game, they are by far the best as it is the latest Lego game but you shouldn’t expect anything realistic, because if you do…you are a moron…how the game is going to look is in the title ‘Lego’ the game, the characters and the settings are going to look like they are made from Lego as is the point, it’s a Lego DC universe.

As you run around the crime filled streets of Lego Gotham you can really see how much work has been put into the game, everything looks like it should and it all looks amazing, with the free roam working really well and by far because of the free roaming ability has lead to one of my all time favorite moments in video games ever, when you fly around as super man, the super man music plays in the back ground and it never fails to make me smile like an fool when it happens, nearly giggling as I zip around as super man with the music playing.

With every Lego game there is a large amount of characters to unlock, I didn’t get to unlock all of them as I rented the game but there are so many its amazing, ranging from the batman rouges gallery including Catwoman, Riddler, Bane and so many more and that is just the batman characters, also enemy’s of  Superman, wonder woman appear in the game and all the characters are unlocked the same, by beating them in a mini boss fight and then buying them with the in game currency, there’s also the basic thugs of each villain to buy, and with these bits you can also construct your own lego character, as you could in most past lego games which is am awesome thing.

The let down’s come from no online co-op, I feel that this type of game could really use it, as I couldn’t have time to get a friend round to come and play ‘Lego batman’ with me, of course if I would have asked some one, they would have just been super man and screwed me other as Super man cannot be killed…with out kryptonite in game.

But Over all this game is really worth buying it’s a lot of fun, as allways with the lego games, and I really makes me hope for a ‘Avengers Lego’ game but as yoy can see there newest project is ‘Lego lord of the rings’ hoping that they game will be as fun as this one is as well as past Lego Games based on franchises.
