Gloryhammer: Space 1992: Rise of the Chaos Wizards

The second album of the Scottish-Swiss epic power metal, headed by the Keyboardist Christopher Bowes of Alestorm fame, comprised of; Angus McFife, Crown Prince of Dundee, Heir to the Kingdom of Fife on Voice-Modulated Star Nucleus (Vocals) Zargothrax, Dark Sorcerer of Auchtermuchty on Positronic Oscillator Command (Keyboard), Ser Proletius, Grand Master of the Templar Knights of Crail  on Dark Matter String Manipulation Interface (Gutiar), HOOTSMAN, Barbarian Warrior of Unst on Trans-Dimensional Subsonic Cluster (Bass) and Ralathor, the Mysterious Hermit of Cowdenbeath on Percussive Phi-Quason Battery (Drums)

This album tells the tales of these galactic heroes as they battle intergalactic evil, as a cult of chaos wizards are planning to release there dark master Zargothrax from his ice prison that Angus Mcfife the 1st sealed him in. Now Angus Mcfife the 13th must battle the chaos wizards to stop the universe from being destroyed, honestly it’s all pretty well explained here and in much more epic fashion.

Sounding very different from there first album which was much more heavy metal and a lot less keytar and over all more intense power metal about battling zombie unicorns and have instead go for a much more sci-fi fantastical sense in both musical and thematically,  well still metal it adds a lot more different sounds that really help GloryHammer stand out from the 50 over fantasy bands that tend to stick to the sameish sound’s, which i would guess would be the main problem of the 1st ablum.

Over all this has a lot more epic sound too it, which is pushed forward by its more epic and over the top tales of things like Golbin king of the dark star, a universe on fire and astral hammers.

It’s a good improvement on there all ready pretty good music and i can’t wait to hear new stuff.
