Anarchy Reigns
Segas muilplayer arena based beat up brawler and a sort of sequel to the black and white violent area fighting Wii game ‘Madworld’, Anarrhy Reigns had next to no build up or hype at all, its like Sega them selves just up and forgot about the game and just expected it to live off what ever hype ‘Madworld’ had…which wasn’t very much at all as it was one of the very few over the top violent Wii game’s,..that wasn’t that good but entertaining never the less, the only reason i even found out about this game was because i was looking up on ‘Madworls’ wikipedia page, and that is even with main character of another popular beat up game being a DLC multiplayer character, Bayonetta, it looks like they planned to just sell this game on the games of people googling about other things.
Never the games single player…is very lack luster and there are only two real reasons to play it…unlocking characters and abilities for the multiplayer and maybe a few of the more over the top and amazing looking cutscenes, even with the slight intresting inviroments that can turn on you, from deadly giant killer plants that release killer Poison into the air, to a run away killer truck driven by the areas resident humanish punching bags.
The most important part of the game is the multiplayer wich a cast of interesting characters with only a handful coming back from Madworld including the main character Jack, and the host of MadWorlds game show plot ‘The Black Baron’. Mixed with a new cast of characters with a number of different powers, moves and weapons leads to an interesting online beat each other up till death gameplay, ranging from team games to a king of the hill style game, as with any fighting game some characters are broken or pleople work out little tricks to use them unfairly but that comes with the game style, and i don’t think it will be changing any time soon with Sega’s lack of advisting i don’t think there will be many patchs or updates…or even more dLC characters or anything like that.
Over all…its somthing i would recommend to a few people, as the muiltplayer is a fun little adventure, but it lacks what made Mad World special, The sin city style art with only two or three colours i was a really big fan off with everything in black and white apart from the blood it really helped bring this game out to the for front by being different with this simple art style and the announcers gone, as these guys added a little bit of dark humor, my fav, to the orignal game i really feel this could have made the whole thing a little better even if it was just for the muiltplayer it would help just add a lot more of a persoanlity, that unlike MadWorld, this game lacks a lot of.
All in all…pretty average game, would properly sell a bit better if Sega showed it off a bit more before hand.
