Liz Dowthwaite: Meaninful interactions between webcomic creators and Readers
This talk by Liz Dowthwaite was about web comic creators and the interactions with there fans and how these can be both a very positive force for them as well as a negative force.
Looking at crowd funding at a whole and what it can bring to a webcomic creator and how much of a positive reaction that can come with this, along with the other ways of gaining income such as; selling T-shirts, adverts, books, commissions ETC, along with these things being rewards for Kickstarter and Patreon.
Of course with popularity on the internet comes with people sharing it and then some people who wish to take credit and will just do that by taking down the watermarks and cutting them out of the picture. effectively stealing without punishment. Though the punishment is in fact inflicted by the fan bases around most artists. So is there really much chance for a smaller artist? Maybe on some places the people who steal work are outed by the users of the website and punished by the community instead of any real legal action for this breach of copy right.
This whole thing being a support of crowd funding and how great it is for both smaller and bigger fans alike.
